Our client is a prominent asset management firm and they are seeking an Accounting Manager to head up their finance department. This role will be reporting into the Chief Compliance Officer and has a lot of upward movement. They are located in Midtown, New York.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:

  • With regards to Accounting: focus on the day to day of accounting functions including Accounts Payable and Receivables, Expense Reports, Credit Card Transactions, Vendor Management, Bank Reconciliations, Revenue Management, Financial Statements, Journal Entries, Quarterly and Year End Close and working on the Audit
  • With regards to Finance: Forecasting, working with the team on budgeting, Balance Sheets, reviewing P&L, budget vs. actual, variance analysis, cash flow projections and working on financial reporting to the parent company
  • With regards to Strategic work: The Accounting Manager will be working on Mergers and Acquisitions, identifying trends, seeing the story through the financial statements and finding targets

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of accounting and finance experience
  • Bachelor’s in accounting is required, MBA and CPA would be preferred
  • Asset Management, Fund to Fund experience is a plus but not a must
  • Quickbooks experience a must, or other ERP systems
  • Detail oriented, independent worker, flexible and interested in growing with the firm.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PAYROLL MANAGER

  • Review records to determine names, rates of pay, and occupations of newly hired employees, and changes in wage rates and occupations of employees on payroll.
  • Process Payroll (non partner) using ADP Workforce Now
  • Record new or changed pay rates in payroll files utilizing ADP software.
  • Direct computation of pay according to company policy.
  • Direct compilation and preparation of other payroll data.
  • Review and approve payroll deductions.
  • Review payroll to ensure accuracy.
  • Determine work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Multitasking and Ad Hoc projects

Qualifications of the Payroll Manager

  • 4+ years experience in Payroll; Law Firm experience preferred but not required
  • Experience with ADP, ADP Workforce Now or ADP Enterprise Software
  • Strong Excel Skills
